Kith and Ronnie Fieg have a long-standing relationship with New Balance. The duo can trace their history back to 2011 when Kith Manhattan opened its doors. To celebrate the new storefront, New Balance and Kith crafted two 574s, and since this collab, we’ve been inundated with Kith x New Balance projects year after year. 2024 has already been filled with pairs like the two-pack of 1906Rs, the 580 and 1300 Malibu, and word that the 991v2 Made in UK will get a colorway inspired by Madison Square Garden. However, Fieg has just taken to social media to tease his next New Balance project, showcasing a Kith colorway of the New Balance 1000 alongside an already-revealed Kith 990v4.
The New Balance 1000 was revived earlier this year, and since then, it has been subject to multiple collaborative efforts and plenty of inline variants. None have appeared as luxurious as this Kith offering, as the silhouette gets a premium suede makeover on its overlays. These panels, including the mudguard, midfoot, heel, and tongue portions, take on a light blue, almost washed hue reminiscent of the shade found on denim pants. Below this sits a canvas base layer in a greyish-blue shade.
Cream accents pop on the lining of the blue N logo along the midfoot, the lacing setup, and on the tongue’s branding, featuring Kith branding. More branding for Kith is found on a co-branded logo on the insole, while more 1000 logos are located on the heel and near the lateral toe. Underfoot sits a cream foam midsole paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Kith x New Balance 1000, alongside the Kith x New Balance 990v4 Made in USA Moonrock, will release on October 8, 2024, exclusively via Kith online and in-store. On October 4, a raffle will go live for the pair on the Kith app. Available in men’s sizing, retail is set at $160.
