It’s been stated multiple times, and they keep proving it, but New Balance has mastered the art of the archival revival. Last year, the Boston-based brand brought back the forgotten NB 1000, a performance runner from 1999 who has since found new life in the lifestyle realm. Following the launch of Concepts’ take on the sneaker, which was inspired by the infamous $1000 US banknote, NB is bringing forth a classic Sea Salt colorway on the sneaker.
Multiple New Balance 1000s have been clad in white hues, like ALD’s White colorway and the tumbled leather-covered Reflection Sea Salt, but this version opts for the traditional mesh and leather construction. Sea salt white lands on the smooth leather mudguard, wavy midfoot panels, and over the heel, contrasting the diamond-mesh base with a slightly different white hue. Grey touches the nylon lace loops, 1000 embroidery near the toe, and the NB branding features on the tongue and heel.

More branding is found on the midfoot with the N logo, seen in white and grey, while the insole contains black New Balance Running logos. Final details include the white leather strip running down the tongue, white laces, a black internal heel counter, the cream foam midsole, and a black and cream rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Sea Salt will release on April 1, 2025, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
