While in today's age we rarely see athletes outside of basketball receive signature silhouettes from brands like Nike, the 90s were a different story. Players like Ken Griffey Jr. or Deion Sanders were able to wow fans with their on-the-field play while rocking their own models from The Swoosh, the Air Griffey Max and Air DT Max respectively. The latter of the two may not be receiving retros, specifically the Air DT Max 96, but Nike is bringing it back with a twist for Arizona Cardinals QB, Kyler Murray.

Spotted in cleat form, the sneaker takes the claw-like design of the original while transforming it into a low-top football cleat ready for State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Around the upper, black nubuck covers almost the entirety of the sneaker with a forefoot strap aiding lockdown support. Once the nubuck reaches the yellow sole unit, various jagged edges feature perforations that mimic the original Air DT Max 96. Nike branding can be found along the forefoot strap and near the collar with a white Swoosh popping off the black base. Underfoot, a set of spikes come in a two-tone design of black near the tow and yellow throughout the rest of the model.

Kyler Murray received these Nike Air DT Max 96 Cleats as he has a love for both football and baseball (which both were played by Deion Sanders). Don’t expect these to release to the public, however, as according to Nike themselves they are a 1-of-1. Perhaps we do see a retro of the Nike Air DT Max 96 in its standard form, though we’ll have to wait and see.
