New Balance's Made in USA lineup is well known for its high-quality and premium offerings, with the 99X series headlining this wing of the brand. However, New Balance is looking to elevate the already high-quality footwear further by collaborating with luxury fashion house Loro Piana, which is getting its colorway of the 990v6. This release follows the recent collaboration on the 990v6 with Joe Freshgoods in Paris Red and Prom Blue.
The Loro Piana x New Balance 990v6 Made in USA features an ultra-premium nubuck upper with overlays in a sophisticated greyscale palette that exudes elegance. Beneath these refined layers lies a tonal Pecora Nera wool base that ensures breathability while maintaining the shoe's upscale aesthetic. The luxury details don’t stop there, with pops of burgundy red accenting the lining of the N logo and the tongue. Co-branded logos adorn the tongue tag, proudly displaying Loro Piana and New Balance branding. The signature 990v6 design is completed with a white and cream FuelCell-cushioned midsole for superior comfort, sitting atop a grey and burgundy red rubber outsole that provides style and performance.
The Loro Piana x New Balance 990v6 Made in USA will release September 5, 2024. Exactly how it will be released has yet to be confirmed, though, with Loro Piana being a luxury brand, we expect it to remain limited. The retail price is currently set at $1,500.
