Maison Margiela's MM6 line consistently collaborated with top brands in the footwear industry to produce innovative and stylish designs. One of their most noteworthy partnerships is with Salomon, a brand known for its high-performance outdoor footwear. This collaboration has successfully merged high fashion with outdoor-ready silhouettes, capturing the attention of both fashion enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Following the success of their previous collections, which featured the ACS Pro Advanced, the MM6 x Salomon collaboration returns for Spring/Summer 2024 with new and exciting renditions of the X-ALP and XT-4 Mule.
The latest collection introduces two neutral renditions of the X-ALP silhouette, one in Black and the other in Black White. Both versions feature a construction that combines style with functionality. Suede overlays grace the toe, providing a luxurious touch, while a mesh base ensures breathability. The sneaker is further reinforced with leather and rubber along the toe and midfoot, enhancing durability. Branding elements include the Maison Margiela MM6 number logo on the tongue and Salomon branding on the collar. A sturdy rubber sole unit completes the design underfoot, making these sneakers perfect for urban and outdoor environments.
The XT-4 Mule, another collection highlight, transforms the popular XT-4 model into a convenient slip-on. The ankle portion has been modified to create a mule while retaining the technically focused construction of the original. Available in three colorways—Tan, Black, and Multi-Color—these mules feature Salomon branding in its usual spots, with the toe box hosting the Maison MM6 number logo. The sole unit remains the same as the original XT-4, ensuring comfort and stability with every step.
The Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Spring/Summer 2024 collection will release in 2024 through Maison Margiela and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced, but expect to pay a premium with the Margiela name attached to these silhouettes.
