Maison Margiela is no stranger to working with sportswear brands across the globe, as we’ve seen the high-fashion label work with French-based outdoor specialists Salomon multiple in the last few years. Following up on the duo’s work during the Spring/Summer 2024 season, they’ve joined forces to bring the Mary Jane aesthetic to the Salomon XT-4 model.
Seen in two colorways, Black Soft Clay and a vibrant multi-color mix of Ginger Electric Green Knockout Pink, the silhouette retains the tooling of the XT-4 silhouette. We see this via the dual-density foam midsole with a full-length Agile Chassis Skeleton system for stability, coming in white, pink, and yellow on the multi-color pair and tonal dark hues on the Black Soft Clay pair. Moving to the upper, we see an open, slip-on construction with a mesh base and fused TPU overlays for reinforcement. MM6 Maison Margiela’s calendar logo finds a home along the toebox and on the lockdown strap across the forefoot, while Salomon is proudly displayed across the lateral collar and midfoot. Though things stick to tonal hues across the black-based pair, the multi-color rendition sees a gradient pattern transition from an aqua blue near the toe to a red hue near the heel.
The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon XT-Mary Jane Pack will release on October 17, 2024, through Maison Margiela, Salomon, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $410.
