Originally appearing in the 80s classic Alien as a high top worn by Sigourney Weaver, the Reebok Alien Stomper didn’t see a public release until the film's 30th anniversary in 2016. A few pairs have been released in the years since and Now in 2022, Reebok is pulling them out of the vault once more with the help of Japanese brand Mountain Research.
Based on the Reebok BB 5600, the silhouette swaps out the lacing system for two lockdown straps across the mid foot and tongue. Dressed in an all black premium leather upper, space themed branding is seen stamped across different portions of the model. The instructional text on both leather straps brings out both the space theme and Mountain Research’s utilitarian design language. Along the tongue, the usual Reebok branding is swapped out for the Japanese brands mountain logo in black and white. Down on the midsole, we see the Reebok BB 5600 cushioning system come in white, rounded out by the two-tone black and white outsole.
The Mountain Research x Reebok Alien Stomper is expected to release sometime in 2022. It will be available at Reebok as well as select retailers in-store and online. Retail is set at $200 for men's sizes. To stay up to date on release and raffle info for the Alien inspired sneaker keep it locked to our Twitter and download our Mobile App.
