In November 2023, the innovative and often controversial art collective based in Brooklyn, MSCHF, is set to release the MSCHF Gobstomer Dremel Edition. Known for creating headlines with its unique approach to sneaker design, which includes the viral Big Red Boot, Big Yellow Boot with Crocs, and Big Black Boot, MSCHF continues to push the boundaries of conventional footwear. This latest release is a testament to their creative ingenuity and willingness to explore uncharted territories in sneaker culture. The Gobstomer, initially introduced with a nod from Jimmy Fallon, is making a comeback in a new colorway, this time in an official collaboration with the power tool company Dremel.
MSCHF’s latest Gobstomer is an invitation to creativity and personalization. The sneaker's most notable feature is its four layers of construction, each revealing different colors as they are worn away. This design concept aligns perfectly with the collaboration with Dremel, known for its precision tools. Unlike typical wear and tear from skating or prolonged use, owners of the Gobstomer Dremel Edition can use the included Dremel 4000 tool to customize their sneakers, making each pair truly one-of-a-kind.
The packaging of this exclusive release consists of the Dremel 4000, various tool heads and accessories, sanding attachments, and the sneakers themselves. In a nod to Dremel's brand, MSCHF's logo is displayed in blue on the midsole in Dremel’s font, while Dremel's branding features prominently on the tongue of the right sneaker. Underneath, the design is completed with a multi-layered rubber midsole, embodying the collaboration's aesthetic and functional aspects.
The MSCHF Gobstomer Dremel Edition will release November 28, 2023, through the MSCHF Sneakers App and MSCHF's website. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $350.
