MSCHF, the NYC-based art collective, has mastered the art of virality. Aside from controversial releases that have prompted legal action from Nike, Vans, and streetwear label WaveyBaby, high-profile releases like the Big Red Boots and BWD showcase MSCHF’s ability to grab the attention of the internet. Continuing the Super Normal 2 series, the brand has teased a clean two-tone orange and white colorway.
Somewhat resembling the iconic Nike Dunk Low “Syracuse” (though the silhouette itself is an obvious play on the AF1), the MSCHF Super Normal 2 Orange features a tumbled leather upper in a two-tone orange and white finish. Wavy orange leather panels around the toe, midfoot, eyestays, and heel contrast white leather on the toebox and midfoot. These white leather sections showcase organically shaped perforations, adding a unique touch to the design. MSCHF branding appears on the tongue and heel, as well as on the sole unit, contrasting the color of each respective location. Completing the design is the chunky white rubber midsole paired with a wavy orange rubber outsole.
The MSCHF Super Normal 2 Orange will be released in 2023 exclusively through the MSCHF Sneakers App. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
