A successful revival of the adidas Samba Millenium (MN) model continues as a three-way collaboration, with the German sportswear giant teaming up with Danish retailer Naked and Dutch skate specialists Maha. After the sneaker's resurgence due to collaborations with New York-based brand Adsum and the global storm Wales Bonner has created, a purely European take on the sneaker arrives with the heritage of the Samba maintained and expanded upon.
Both Naked and Maha are specialists in women's wear, empowering females across the globe while providing the most stylish options available. Naked is based in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, and is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. It was founded in 2004 and has grown considerably since then. Maha, based in the Netherlands capital city, Amsterdam, will celebrate ten years in business next year. It was founded in 2015 by Saskia van Hofwegen and Dian Iskandar out of the need for female representation in the Amsterdam streetwear market, and it has since gained a reputation as one of the best stores in the country.
After successful collaborations with adidas this year, Naked with the Lace Pack, and Maha with the Half Green Samba and Samoa, they now combine to present the Samba MN. A sleek upper is constructed from core black premium leather, featuring patterned embroidery around the shoe, reminiscent of soccer cleat detailing and an elevated look. Off White Three Stripes branding contrasts along the sidewall, with gold foil running parallel, carrying the moniker of each collaborator on opposing sides. More dual-branding text is seen on the inside tongue; again, Naked is on one shoe, Maha on the other. The outer-facing panels have embroidered EQT branding.
The insoles carry all three brands' logos and are accompanied by the famous handshake logo of adidas Consortium. A suede hit is seen at the rear heel, and below that is another embroidered EQT motif. Underfoot, the distinctive two-tone MN midsole is visible, finished in off white and gum rubber that extends to the outsole, joined by black and white tread. The aesthetic is completed by leather strips for the lace set tied up in bows.
The Naked x Maha x adidas Samba MN is set to release in Spring 2025 via Naked, Maha, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex and kids sizing, retailing pricing is to be announced.
