Following a slew of notable collaborations like the recent X-Men celebration with Kith and introducing a new silhouette with OTTO 958, Asics continues to forge partnerships that excite sneaker enthusiasts. This time, they've teamed up with Needles, a fellow Japanese brand, to create a chic interpretation of the Asics EX-89 model. The collaboration has resulted in two new colorways, each laden with purple and grey accents that complement the primary shades.
Crafted entirely of leather, the Needles x Asics EX-89 is available in "White" and "Black" renditions. Purple stitching adds depth to the shoe and lends it an animated, playful aura. On the tongue tags, you'll find Asics branding on the right shoe and Needles on the left, a split presentation that encapsulates the partnership in a nuanced manner. The heel tab also carries dual branding, echoing the shared creative vision. Inside, the sockliner showcases further purple accents, while the sole unit is tonal yet sports spurts of purple on the outsole, completing the cohesive look.
The Needles x Asics EX-89 Pack will release September 15, 2023, through Asics, Needles, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $150.
