New Balance's deep dive into the archives over the last few years has produced some notable comebacks in the sneaker world. More recently, the Boston-based footwear label revived the forgotten New Balance 1000, which Sole Retriever just covered the story of how it made its way back to the market. While we know plenty of colorways are on the horizon, official images of a new Dark Olivine Magnet colorway have emerged.
Featuring a leather and mesh construction, the late '90s mesh runner features dark olivine leather panels on the mudguard, a wavy midfoot panel, and the heel overlay. More of this leather hits an overlay running down the spine of the tongue, partially covering the black lace set. On the base, a black mesh peeks through the toe and separates the two panels along the midfoot. New Balance and 1000 branding find a home atop the tongue and heel in a contrasting olive shade, with the N logo on the midfoot coated in a stark black shade. Underfoot sits a tonal green foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Dark Olivine Magnet is currently available overseas via New Balance China, with a global release via New Balance and select retailers in the coming weeks. Offering in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
