New Balance has a knack for reviving forgotten silhouettes, with one of the more recent models returning from the vault being the New Balance 1000. Speaking with Kevin Trotman, the product manager who worked on reviving the silhouette, he told us at Sole Retriever that plenty of styles are on the horizon. This news is the case as we recently looked at a new Dark Olivine colorway that should launch alongside the pictured Magnet Plum Brown.
The silhouette is coated in dark purple hues on its leather overlays for this new colorway. The mudguard, tongue panel, wavy midfoot overlays, and heel come with this purple leather, while the base layer of mesh below has a black finish. More of this black hue continues to the lace set, the lining of the internal heel counter, and the midfoot’s N logo. Branding for the 1000 is located on the lateral toe, tongue tag, and heel, all of which come in a tonal plum shade. Below, the model has an Abzorb-cushioned midsole in a dark plum finish paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Magnet Plum Brown is currently available overseas via New Balance China and will hit global retailers and New Balance in the US in the coming weeks. Offered in men’s sizing, the sneaker retails for $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
