Under the creative direction of Teddy Santis, New Balance’s Made in USA line has become a beacon for sneakerheads. Outside of his job at NB, Santis continues to lead ALD, which has a knack for helping New Balance revive classic silhouettes. In 2024, this trend continues with the re-release of the New Balance 1000, a model that first made its mark in 1999. Accompanying the Joe Freshgoods collaboration (and rumblings of a possible ALD collab), is the first inline release of the model — Metallic Silver.
Retaining the sneaker's original design, this New Balance 1000 preserves its authenticity while infusing a fresh, modern appeal. The upper is bathed in a striking metallic silver, with wavy overlays that exude a futuristic vibe. This lustrous detail is complemented by a contrasting black jersey mesh base, aligning with the midfoot's iconic "N" logo. Further accentuating its design are the New Balance branding elements – the "1000" insignia on the toe and tongue stand out in the same metallic silver, creating a cohesive and visually captivating aesthetic. The sneaker is completed with a cream ABZORB foam midsole and a durable black outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Metallic Silver will release April 24, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
