New Balance has dug deep into its archives and brought back the New Balance 1000 model, a sneaker that first dropped in 1999 but never saw major success in the market. Since its return, through collaborative efforts with Aime Leon Dore and Joe Freshgoods and clean inline variants, the model has finally enjoyed the success it initially lacked. Continuing this momentum, New Balance introduces the latest rendition: Sea Salt Astro Dust.
The New Balance 1000 Sea Salt Astro Dust features a sophisticated blend of colors and materials, staying true to the model's heritage while adding a contemporary twist. Like the upcoming Sea Salt Heron Blue colorway, this pair showcases white leather on its wavy overlays, which cover the midfoot and panels near the toe and heel. The shoe's base features a gradient mesh that transitions from a deep red near the toe to a lighter red near the heel, adding depth and visual interest. Additional red accents appear on the lace loops and tongue tag, while the N logo and 1000 branding come in a greyish-gold finish, providing a subtle yet elegant contrast. Underfoot, the has a cream foam midsole featuring red hits near the heel and toe, paired with a black and red rubber outsole for enhanced traction and durability.
The New Balance 1000 Sea Salt Astro Dust will release on August 21, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
