It seems New Balance has a found a formula in recent months as the Boston-based footwear brand has made waves with the revival of silhouettes like the NB 550, 1906R, and 2002R. The latter of these three models is arguably one of the brand's more popular models as brands like Kith have added their spin to the model as well as an array of inline releases hitting the shelves. Switching things up from the traditional construction, it seems "White Fur" is making its way to the New Balance 2002R.
Keeping the color scheme simple, the upper comes mostly in a two-tone white shade with the leather overlays coming in a darker shade while the base layer gets covered in whiter fur. Accenting this are leather overlays near the collar and along the toebox that get dressed in a more stark white shade compared to the rest of the upper while the branding details along the midfoot, tongue, collar, and heel come in a jet black hue. Tonal cream laces run up a similarly shaded tongue and meet with the cream-colored sockliner. Underfoot, the sole unit gets borrowed from the NB 860v2 and takes on a tannish hue while the entire design is rounded out by a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 2002R White Fur is set to release in 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
