When it comes to bringing back retro silhouettes, New Balance is certainly no stranger to this. From the 1906R to the 2002R, over the past few years the Boston footwear giant has been reviving archival models with great success. Next on the docket, the iconic New Balance 529 "Tan."
First introduced in the 2000s, the NB 529 is a vintage sneaker through and through. With an all-leather construction, a somewhat overcomplicated design, and an aggressively-styled upper, this all fits perfectly with today’s dad shoe trend, making the idea of bringing back the 529 an absolute no-brainer. For this upcoming colorway, the entire shoe has been dipped in a clean tan palette, while “529” branding adorns the heel and tongue. Speaking of which, you’ll find an oversized pull tab here for a rugged and ready look and feel. Underfoot, the highly-sculpted ABZORB midsole has been slightly reworked for the modern era, and if you take a look under the shoe, you’ll actually find this cushioning technology peeking out from the heel portion in a deep blue hue.
