The New Balance 550 has undoubtedly become one of the brand’s most popular silhouettes. Three years have passed since the pair’s modern day revival, and the craze is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Today alone we've seen several new colorways emerge, including "Blue Suede" and "Seafoam Green," and now the 550 Incense joins the mix.
New Balance takes an earthy approach to this 550. A light tan suede reminiscent of sandalwood incense stands out against the white base, which utilizes both smooth and perforated leather. Incense suede is used for the toe cap and "N" logo, with the color repeating for the trim and branding. It then carries to the back on the heel counter and the grid mesh that replaces the athletic mesh New Balance typically uses. An off white midsole brings slight contrast with the white leather, while the outsole brings back the incense hue.
The New Balance 550 Incense is expected to release this year via New Balance and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is expected to be $110.
