The Steven Smith-designed New Balance 550 continues to receive new colorways across the board, whether that be with collaborators like ALD or standard releases such as the retro-like White Nightwatch Green. However, for the first time, New Balance is set to bring back the 650 through inline releases, a high-top variant of the 550 that is continuing to receive the Teddy Santis treatment. Launching alongside the White Red variant, the New Balance 650 White Blue is almost here.
The classic 650 construction returns with a combination of leather and mesh taking over the upper in shades of blue, black, and white. Various leather panels come with white accent stitching while perforated leather appears on the toebox and the overlay hosting the bottommost eyestays as well as “650” branding in blue. Along the midfoot, another branding detail comes in blue with black trim in the form of the “N” logo while the white mesh tongue is home to a black, white, and blue “NB” basketball graphic-laden tongue tag. Blue puffy mesh sits on the collar with a white leather overlay contrasting the vibrant shade. Underfoot, a white NB branded midsole is paired with a tri-tone blue, black, and white rubber outsole.
The New Balance 650 White Blue is slated to release on September 15th through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
