New Balance has been on a tear when it comes to silhouette revivals. Of the multiple models that have come back from the dead, one of the latest is the 740, which has been subject to a collaboration with artist Aminé and launched in inline colorways like the Ice Blue and White Marsh. Following up on previews of the Concord Multi colorway slated for a March 2025 release, New Balance is dropping a classic dad shoe colorway with the NB Navy White rendition.
You couldn’t draw up a better color scheme to portray chunk dad shoes than navy and white, obviously conjuring up Nike Air Monarch 4 images. For this NB, we see an open-spaced mesh in white on the base layer with metallic silver accents landing on the leather panels around the toebox, vamp, eyestays, midfoot, and heel. Pops of NB navy are on portions of this metallic silver paneling, outlining the N logo on the midfoot and taking over branding details on the tongue tag. More of this navy shade lines the panel from heel to toe, containing the 740 logo in metallic silver and navy. Underfoot, this revived version of the New Balance 740 borrows its sole unit from the budget-friendly New Balance 530, taking on a white and black finish for this pair.
The New Balance 740 NB Navy White will release on November 15, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $110.
