For New Balance, archival silhouettes and colorways have reigned supreme in 2022 with models like the NB 650, a high-top version of the coveted 550, finally seeing an inline release since its debut in 1989. The Boston-based brand also found time to release an all-new silhouette that oozes Y2K vibes, the New Balance 9060, in a variety of colorways. Already previewed as a part of a large number of samples, we’ve got a detailed look at the New Balance 9060 "Pool Blue."
Similar to the 2017 release of the New Balance 998 “Pool Blue,” this 9060 comes covered in its titular shade of blue with accenting grey, cream, and brown hits found throughout. Blue shaded mesh takes over the base layer while a complimentary hue of the same color palette lands on the suede overlays, wrapping from the toebox all the way back to the heel. This almost-monochromatic look continues onto the tongue and lace set with grey accents featured here as well as the collar and toebox. Along the midfoot, the “N” logo comes in white with brown leather piping the edges, matching the back half of the split-colored foam midsole. Rounding out the design is the 860-inspired rubber outsole that comes with diamond-shaped traction pods in a white hue.
The New Balance 9060 Pool Blue is set to release in 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
