As New Balance’s popularity exploded at the tail end of 2021 and all throughout 2022, the Boston-based footwear label knew it was time to strike while the iron was hot and introduce new silhouettes to its lineup. With the help of marquee collaborator Joe Freshgoods, the New Balance 9060 made its debut and took its inspiration from Y2K-era runners while infusing DNA from the iconic 99X series. Arguably one of the brand's best offerings as of late, more inline colorways are hitting shelves in 2023 and this “Sea Salt Concrete” makeover is one of the cleanest yet.
Coming in its usual mixture of suede, leather, and mesh, the silhouette dons creamy white shades mixed with silver and grey accents across its upper. For its base layer of mesh, stark white shades shine through the various panels of creamy white suede that work from the toe, connect at the silver “N” logo on the lateral side, and work back to the heel. Surrounding this are 99X-Esque grey leather panels on the toebox and white leather near the midfoot while the laces and tongue both partake in this same white hue. Working back, more greyscale overlays take over the heel tab and the collar with NB branding pops due to its white finish. Rounding out the sneaker is the chunky midsole that comes in a two-tone cream and white finish paired with a grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance 9060 Sea Salt Concrete is set to release in 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
