First teased at the beginning of 2022, New Balance and Teddy Santis have blessed NB fans and sneakerheads with refreshing takes on a variety of 99X models through the Santis-helmed Made in USA line. Neutral colors dominated the offerings in the first half, though as of late we’ve been given more colorful choices as seen on the upcoming New Balance 990v2 Made in USA by Teddy Santis “Marigold.”
Shades of orange, cream, and black take over the entire sneaker while utilizing the premium materials the Made in USA line is known for. Short-haired suede in dark orange is present on the overlays found along the mudguard, midfoot, collar, and heel while a more toned-down orange can be found on the mesh underlay. Black accents land on the toebox overlays, the N logo on the midfoot, and back on the heel tab, accenting the cream laces, tongue, and sockliner. More NB branding is present via the tongue’s embroidery details, the insole's vintage “New Balance” text, and “USA” on the heel, denoting the pair's country of origin. Underfoot, an Abzorb cushioned midsole gets covered in cream while the rubber outsole below gets a black makeover with accenting orange hits.
The New Balance 990v2 Made in USA by Teddy Santis Marigold is slated to release on August 12th through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is $195.
