A trendsetter within the sneaker and streetwear world, Teddy Santis has risen from being the owner of a niche streetwear label, Aime Leon Dore, to becoming the Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line. While the duo still collaborates through his ALD label, his work on the Made in USA side of things has proven to be quite successful. Most drops come in neutral shades of greys, blacks, and whites, though the latest colorway to appear on the New Balance 990v3 Made in USA by Teddy Santis comes in a purple-shaded "Raw Amethyst."
As is the case with all Made in USA models, the materials of the upper get a premium makeover, dressed in suede, mesh, and nubuck panels. Donning the majority of the suede is a light purple shade of amethyst, appearing near the toe, midfoot, and heel. Dark navy mesh panels accent well with the dark grey suede overlays placed atop. For the laces and tongue, this same dark navy is chosen while the top of the tongue takes on a black shade and hosts New Balance USA branding in orange. Along the midfoot, the N logo is dressed in an accenting orange, surrounded by white piping. For the collar, a white mesh is utilized which accents well with the orange insole and retro New Balance graphic atop this. Moving back to the heel, a black perforated leather heel tab is located above an orange NB logo. Rounding out the look is the two-tone cream midsole paired with a grey and black rubber outsole below.
The New Balance 990v3 Made in USA by Teddy Santis Raw Amethyst is slated to release on July 15th, 2022 in Japan through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store while a worldwide release is slated for the coming weeks. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $210. For more updates regarding New Balance and more, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
