While the New Balance 990v4 is a relatively newer addition to the 990 series, only having released in 2016, it has quickly become one of the more popular “dad shoe” silhouettes on the market. Having simultaneously revealed a Made in USA variant in black and silver, New Balance is also dressing the 990v4 in a deep navy blue
Navy athletic mesh is overlaid with dark navy suede to define the upper. Another shade of blue sitting somewhere between the other two in terms of brightness is then used to line the suede panels in perforated leather. New Balance’s runner-friendly reflective accents can be found in their usual spots on the back heel. Coordinated navy laces sit atop the mesh tongue, which features a navy patch housing silver branding and a Made in USA plaque. Underfoot, the midsole features a two-tone grey construction at the heel with encap cushioning, and swaps to white at midfoot. Wrapping up the silhouette is an outsole dressed in black and grey.
The New Balance 990v4 Made in USA Navy is releasing this year via New Balance and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is expected to be $210.
