As New Balance prepares for the annual Grey Day celebration May 12, the brand is set to release an impressive lineup of sneakers. Included in this long list is the New Balance 996. While we’ve already seen the “Navy” themed pair in the collection, a “Core Grey” colorway is joining the lineup.
Following a similar color scheme to the recently revealed New Balance 998, the model stays true to its OG construction and color palette. Beige-grey shades take over the pigskin suede mudguard, midfoot panel, and heel, while tan mesh is visible on the toe box, tongue, and collar. A silver 3M reflective "N" logo on the midfoot contrasts with white piping, with additional white hits found on the laces, Made In USA-branded tongue tag, and sockliner. The heel features a 3M reflective finish with black "NB" embroidery, and a grey and white midsole paired with a black rubber outsole completes the look.
The New Balance 996 Grey will release on May 12 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $175.
