New Balance has long been celebrated for its rich heritage in running, crafting sneakers that combine performance with timeless style. In recent years, the brand has ventured into innovative designs that push the envelope, creating cutting-edge lifestyle sneakers. The New Balance WRPD Runner is a prime example of this creative spirit, offering a glimpse into the future of sneaker design while staying grounded in the brand's storied past. Following up on the Magnet pair, New Balance is set to introduce a new colorway to the WRPD Runner lineup: the Licorice.
This latest iteration of the WRPD Runner, dubbed Licorice, showcases a sophisticated palette that balances boldness with subtlety. The upper features a combination of shaggy suede and mesh, with the mesh sections adorned in the namesake Licorice color, a deep, rich purple that evokes a sense of luxury and depth. Complementary tan suede overlays add a touch of warmth and contrast, while the darker purple lace set and heel tab accentuate the sneaker's overall aesthetic.
The iconic “N” logo is rendered in a sleek black textile, further elevating the design. What truly sets the WRPD Runner Licorice apart is its sole unit. The chunky FuelCell-cushioned foam midsole, presented in the same licorice hue, provides a visual impact and unparalleled comfort and is paired with a durable black and tan outsole.
The New Balance WRPD Runner Licorice will release in 2024 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
