New Balance's Tokyo Design Studio is no stranger to reimagining classic silhouettes, as it recently brought a higher-quality leather to the 574. Renowned for its innovative designs and trendsetting styles, the division has stayed on the cusp of fashion while adhering to the brand's heritage. This year, TDS focuses on the New Balance 610, a trail-running staple known for its rugged build and sleek profile. Alongside this pair, a Brown colorway is also hitting shelves.
The New Balance 610 Tokyo Design Studio maintains the model's traditional wavy overlays and distinctive combination of suede, mesh, and leather materials. However, this rendition takes a bold step forward by adopting a laceless build. The collar region and "tongue" sport a neoprene finish, offering a snug fit and modern aesthetic. The color scheme opts for light blue mesh and neoprene, elegantly contrasted by tan suede and leather accents. Unlike most New Balance designs, this pair removes the large "N" logo at midfoot and places it along the center of the toe. Down below, the tri-toned midsole showcases lavender, white, and blue shades, grounding the design with a grey outsole.
The New Balance 610 Tokyo Design Studio Concrete will release November 17, 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. The sneakers will be available in men’s sizing, with the retail price set at $130.
