With their last linkup honoring ice cream parlors, Nice Kicks and Asics are back again covering sweet treats with their latest collaborative effort. Taking inspiration from Japanese dessert bowls and black sesame ice cream, the Nice Kicks x Asics Gel-Lyte III “Black Sesame” is here.
Dressing the silhouette are shades of grey and white mixed with a blue sometsuke bowl pattern around the collar and matcha green hits found on the lace set. As for the rest of the sneaker, hairy suede overlays in grey can be found on the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel overlay, while the Asics tiger stripe logo comes in a metallic silver finish. Included on this pair is a hangtag that showcases the dessert that the colorway is mimicking, including the matcha that tops off the ice cream. Forgoing any obvious co-branding details, the typical “Gel-Lyte III,” and “Asics” text is showcased on the heel overlay and heel tab respectively with the Nice Kicks text bubble logo debossed on the latter of the two locations. Rounding out the design is the split-colored midsole, coming in white and grey while the rubber outsole below gets covered in black, grey, and matcha green.
The Nice Kicks x Asics Gel-Lyte III Black Sesame is set to drop on September 29th, 2022 exclusively through Nice Kicks online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
