Tinker Hatfield and Bruce Kilgore, two legendary designers from Nike, came together to craft a silhouette in 1991 dubbed the Air 180. Featuring 180 degrees of Nike Air cushioning in the heel for the first time, the silhouette has remained legendary amongst Air Max heads, and 2024 saw the revival of the sneaker in OG form. Nike is introducing a Black Hyper Crimson color scheme following up on the Baltic Blue Lightning and Black Dusty Cactus colorways.
Featuring the OG construction of the 180, this new colorway sees black mesh used for the base and black shades covering the felt suede along the mudguard, eyelets, midfoot, and heel. The laces and tongue feature more black, while the 180 text is split between black and hyper crimson. Continuing with this accenting color, we see the sockliner, stitching along the Swoosh, and the Nike branding along the heel, taking on a hyper crimson shade. Underfoot sits a black foam midsole with hyper crimson accents on the Air unit in the heel paired with a black and hyper crimson rubber outsole.
The Nike Air 180 Black Hyper Crimson releases Holiday 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
