When the Nike Air Force 1 debuted in 1982, no one expected it to become one of the most iconic silhouettes of all time, including its designer, Bruce Kilgore. In its early years, sales for the Air Force 1 were slow. That changed after it was re-released, and the rest is history. Now, 40+ years later, the Nike Air Force 1 is still a staple at Nike, releasing in new colorways, styles, and more monthly. While the Air Force 1 Low is the preferred cut of choice, the Air Force 1 High is still held in high regard for its original roots. For Spring 2024, Nike Sportswear has looked back on a modern-day classic from the early '00s for inspiration on the Nike Air Force 1 High "White University Blue."
Made exclusively for the ladies, the women's Nike Air Force 1 High "White University Blue" calls back to the Nike Air Force 1 High Sheed in the same color scheme, initially released in 2002. The design is almost a 1-1 re-creation, with the significant differences being an all-leather upper instead of patent leather and no Sheed logo on the heel. The aged midsole even adds to the flare of reimagining what the Nike Air Force 1 High Sheed would look like today, 20+ years after its release. As a bonus, a backward Swoosh is embroidered on the removable ankle straps, a nod back to early AF1 High releases.
The Nike Air Force 1 High White University Blue W is set to release in Spring 2024. They will be available via Nike, SNKRS, and select NSW retailers. Coming exclusively in women's sizing, retail is set at $130. For the latest information on this and other Jordan releases, download the Sole Retriever Mobile app and follow us on Twitter.
