As it’s been stated numerous times, the Nike Air Force 1 is 40 years old and is celebrating its anniversary this year. While there have been many iterations, very few have had any sort of “Anniversary” specific branding, until now. Coming in a clean white, royal blue, gum yellow, and metallic gold, these AF1 Lows are as classic as they get.
A clean, all-white upper and midsole are highlighted by one color, royal blue. Those hits come by way of the Swoosh on the side, AIR branding on the midsole, tongue tag, back heel tab branding, and lastly, the insole. A gum yellow outsole provides that classic Air Force 1 Low. Tying in with the anniversary theme is the metallic gold “Anniversary Edition” written in cursive on the tongue label.
Aside from the royal blue old school font on the heel tab and the gum outsole, my favorite feature on this AF1 has to be the toothbrush. As opposed to using a traditional hang tag, Nike elected to give us a toothbrush. The toothbrush pays homage to the simpler times when your AF1 had to be cleaned and the only means to do so was with soap, water, and a toothbrush. Before the times of Jason Markk, Crep Protect and other modern-day sneaker cleaners.
