Many US-based Nike enthusiasts often complain of the lack of attention for anniversaries when it comes to the SNKRS app as over in the EU an entire day is dedicated to celebrating the mobile app’s birthday in August. Once again skipping out on the Americas, Nike has crafted a celebratory Air Force 1 Low that takes inspiration from Korean street food vendors that are often referred to as “Pojangmacha.”
Coming dressed in an almost-two-tone look across its leather upper, spicy red hues land on the overlays located along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel. Stark white details appear via the perforated toebox and quarter panel while the lace and tongue combo continues this theme with green accents found on the lace dubrae and “Nike Air” branding atop the tongue. On the sockliner, a white mesh is found with the insole matching this shade, though it does host graphics of popular Korean street foods like fish cakes on a skewer. Underfoot, the rubber midsole and outsole get covered in coconut milk.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Pojangmacha is set to release on September 25th, 2022 exclusively in Korea through Nike SNKRS. Release in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150 USD.
