In 1971, Carolyn Davidson, who was a graphic design student at Portland State University at the time, was approached by Phil Knight with a project: To design a new logo for his line of running shoes. While Knight didn't exactly know what he wanted, he knew that it had to have "something to do with movement," and the result was what we now know as the legendary Swoosh. Regarded by many as one of the most memorable brand marks of all-time, it has been used on thousands and thousands of Nike products for the past five decades. While some items feature just one or two Swooshes, others, like the just-announced Nike Air Force 1 Low Quadruple Swoosh "White" simply can't get enough of it.
From a distance, this Air Force 1 Low looks like just another classic colorway, but upon closer inspection you'll find that there is way more than meets the eye. Outfitted in smooth white leather throughout, perforations across the toebox offer the ultimate breathing experience, while the Air midsole underfoot makes these one of most comfortable sneakers on the market. "Nike Air" branding adorns the tongue tag and heel badge, and of course, you can't talk about this shoe without mentioning the quartet of Swooshes that shoot through the lateral and medial sidewalls. Kicking it all off with a navy one, this is overlaid by a fiery red rendition and is contrasted by a metallic silver outline on top. As if that wasn't enough, the Beaverton brand has also embroidered a baby blue version just above it all.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Quadruple Swoosh White is set to release sometime in 2023 in men's sizes for $110. Expected to drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers, make sure you keep it locked on Sole Retriever's Twitter and Mobile App for your best chance to cop!
