Bruce Kilgore’s famed Nike Air Force 1 turns 40 years old in 2022 with Nike continuing to bring us new designs, classic retro, and celebratory colorways in honor of its milestone birthday. One of these celebratory colorways comes in the form of the Nike Air Force 1 Low Tan Bling.
For this remix of the classic AF1 design, Nike creates a mismatched collage of materials and an array of gilded details throughout. The mudguard gets an overhaul through its use of mesh that runs about three-quarters of the way around, transitioning to a canvas where the mini Swoosh is located. On the toebox, midfoot panel, and eyestays sits a smooth grey leather, accented by the white rope laces running atop the open-face mesh tongue. Bringing royalty to the silhouette is the golden lace dubrae on the bottommost eyestay, the gilded Nike Swoosh logo atop the tongue, and hints of gold on the end of the two-tone tan and white Nike Swoosh running along the profile. Though the top of the tongue forgoes the standard tongue tag, the detail is still present through the front and back being placed on the lateral and medial midfoot panel respectively. Back towards the heel, a deep brown leather is surrounded by a tumbled leather collar and canvas ripstop-like heel overlay. Underfoot a light beige AF1 midsole with Air branding on the heel is paired with a matching colored rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Tan Bling is slated to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is TBA.
