The brands across the footwear industry gear up every time we turn the calendars to January as a slew of themed releases around special occasions like the Lunar New Year and NBA All-Star Game start to hit shelves. In between these two events sits Valentine’s Day, another big moment in footwear where we see Cupid’s Arrow strike a variety of silhouettes with Nike usually going all-in every year. Already seen on the AF1, a second colorway centered around the holiday of love has taken over the Bruce Kilgore-designed silhouette.
Taking on sail hues across its tumbled leather upper, various hits of burgundy red and pink accent alongside additional heart-shaped details throughout. Standard AF1 details like the perforated toebox and lace dubrae remain, however, the latter of the two takes on a pink heart-shape design while the tongue tag atop the sail tongue comes with a two cherry heart design. This same graphic also makes its way over to the Swoosh along the midfoot which comes trimmed in pink and features a secondary mini Swoosh in white near the front of the logo. More pink shades are present on the sockliner while the heel tab’s red makeover is broken up by a pink heart debossed into the center. Rounding out the design is the sail rubber midsole with a heart dotting the “I” in “AIR” near the heel while the outsole below comes in burgundy red.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Valentine’s Day 2 is set to release in February 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is currently TBA.
