To coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the Air Force 1, Nike has already and will continue to release several variations of the Air Force 1 Mid. The latest installment is nicknamed the "Vivid Sulfur Rush Orange" edition. It is inspired by the colors and textures of the European produce market.
Created by Bruce Kilgore, the first AF1 to release was the high top version in 1982 as a basketball sneaker. In 1983 Nike decided to release a low top version. The Air Force 1 Mid was finally released in 1994. Of the high top, low, and mid variations, some might argue that the Mid is the worst of the three. While I can’t say that I disagree, I will say there have been some great Mid colorways over the years. That’s the beauty of sneakers, everything is not for everybody but there is something for somebody.
This Nike AF1 Mid incorporates the coconut milk seen on the tongue, laces, toebox, side panels, and midsole. Bleached Coral is found via the Swoosh on the sides and back heel tab, with rush orange on the textured eyestays, and vivid sulfur wrapping around the toebox. Green is then found on the mid-foot strap and back heel wrap. The insole graphic mimics the tongue tag in terms of colors, words, and imagery, while the sneaker is finished off by a classic gum outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Vivid Sulfur Rush Orange is set to release on June 14th, 2022. It will drop on the Nike SNKRS app as well as at select retailers worldwide, online and in-store. Retail is set at $145 for men. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
