2023 saw Nike bring back a sneaker that many Air Max collectors: The OG Big Bubble version of the Air Max 1. This four-chambered Air unit was the original design for the Air Max 1. However, QC issues forced a recall and redesign, so the model is typically found in today's three-bubble chamber. As we've seen a continuous amount of colorways hit shelves, we have also seen golf variants come our way, with the Air Max 1 '86 OG Golf coming in a Wolf Grey Bright Cactus color scheme.
This special golf edition of the Air Max 1 ‘86 OG maintains the iconic silhouette while adapting it for the green. The upper features a functional blend of mesh and suede, predominately dressed in wolf grey that covers the mudguard and midfoot panel. Bright Cactus accents pop on the vamp, heel overlay, and TPU eyelets, contrasting beautifully with the neutral base and injecting a lively burst of color that stands out on and off the course.
The traditional lace setup is retained, now in pristine white that matches the mesh base, enhancing the clean and classic look of the sneaker. Underneath, the sneaker sports a white foam midsole, housing the distinctive larger four-chamber Air unit, now tinted in the eye-catching bright cactus shade, providing both performance cushioning and a striking visual element. The outsole is crafted for golf performance, featuring a traction-enhancing pattern in black, white, and bright cactus that ensures stability during play.
The Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG Golf Wolf Grey Bright Cactus will release in Fall 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is pegged at $160.
