As sneakerheads will recall, 2023 was a momentous year for the Air Max 1 line. Nike revived the cherished OG Big Bubble variant, quenching the thirst of Air Max enthusiasts. With its distinct four-chamber Air unit, this revered design was initially pulled off the shelves in 1987 owing to quality control hiccups, where the air bubble became vulnerable to cold conditions. As the sneaker community keenly anticipates the debut of the Air Max 1 '86 Royal and its golf-inspired sibling, another pair has emerged — the Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG Premium in Black Denim.
The detailed construction of this Air Max 1 is striking. A seamless blend of tumbled leather, plush suede, and robust denim adorns the upper. Most of this landscape is cast in rich black tones, spanning the leather mudguard and extending to the denim segments in the midfoot and heel. Pops of pink shine through on the denim vamp, while grey suede offers a balanced backdrop for the crisp white tumbled leather Swoosh. The pink story continues with the laces, the tongue's top portion, and the sockliner. To round off the look, a coconut milk-tinted foam midsole housing the iconic OG Air unit is juxtaposed against a two-tone grey and pink rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG Premium Black Denim Pink will release Spring 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
