But it's the upcoming 2024 releases that have caught our eye, specifically the women-exclusive Smokey Mauve edition.
The new Smokey Mauve version seamlessly blends the heritage of the Air Max 1 with a contemporary palette. Staying true to its classic colorblocking, this model features a crisp white base layer. Shades of neutral grey elegantly drape the suede sections – from the vamp to the midfoot and heel – providing a muted canvas for the sneaker's standout accents. As for the smokey mauve, the hue gracefully graces the Swoosh, creating contrast against the subtle greys and whites. This shade also elegantly ties together the branding elements on the tongue and heel. As always, beneath all these design intricacies lies the white Air Max 1 midsole with a visible Air unit in the heel. This is complemented by a white and smokey mauve rubber outsole that completes the look.
The Nike Air Max 1 '87 Smokey Mauve W will release on January 5, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women's sizing, it carries a retail price of $140.
