Even though the 35th Anniversary of the Air Max 1 took place in 2022, the release calendar in 2023 continues to fill up with new colorways on the model. Just in the last few weeks, we’ve seen a variety of pairs, including a rehash of the “Uwara” colorway, a “Denim Animal Print,” and a CO.JP-branded snakeskin pair. The latest iteration of the iconic Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Max 1, the LX “Rugged Orange,” comes to us with high-quality materials.
Taking on a clean combination of sail and light orewood brown across its multi-material upper, the base layer of white corduroy allows the rest of the sneaker to shine. Along the mudguard, we see rugged orange cover the suede panel while the midfoot panel and heel overlay appear in light orewood brown tumbled leather. Tonal white laces match the tongue and stop just below a hit of sundial yellow in the form of the Nike-branded tag and via the TPU eyestays. More tumbled leather is present on the midfoot with the rugged orange Nike Swoosh, though the final hit of Nike branding found on the heel comes primarily in a yellow hue. Rounding out the design is the sail Air Max 1 midsole paired with a multi-color rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 LX Rugged Orange (W) will be released online and in-store on July 28th, 2023, through Nike and select NSW retailers. Releasing exclusively in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
