2022 marks the 35th Anniversary of the first-ever Nike Air Max silhouette. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, sneakers have never been the same since this revolutionary technology debuted. While nothing has been officially announced, expect to see Nike drop a variety of Air Max 1s throughout the new year. Everything from OG’s, to classics to collabs and more are in-store for all you Air Max lovers out there.
Looking further down the pipeline, it has been confirmed that Nike Sportswear will bring back the Nike Air Max 1 OG “Big Bubble” in 2023. This will mark the first time the first iteration of the classic Nike Air Max 1 will be retroed. True to its original 1986 production design, the sneaker features OG mesh and suede overlays with a larger, visible Max Air unit in the heel, aka the “Big Bubble.” So far the only colorway confirmed to get the OG Big Bubble treatment is the original “Sport Red.” In addition, we can expect them to come in OG-style packaging, providing a cherry on top, so-to-speak.
The Nike Air Max 1 OG Big Bubble is set to be released on Air Max Day, March 26th, 2023. They will launch at Nike as well as select retailers in-store and online. They will be available in men's and women's sizes with a retail price set at $150. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on this release as it gets closer.
