We've said it before, and we'll say it again: 2023 is going to be a major year for Nike's Air Max 1. With special colorways like the "Coral Stardust" in the works, and exclusive drops such as "Air Max Day" and "Big Bubble" going down, we're now taking our first look at another limited edition release with the never-before-seen Nike Air Max 1 Premium "Michigan Snakeskin." Giving the classic color combination a reptilian-inspired makeover, make sure you keep it locked to find out everything that we know so far.
Taking its palette from the University of Michigan, which has been the muse for many Nike sneaks in the past, this Air Max 1 boasts a full leather construction with faux snakeskin detailing throughout. Working on top of a midnight navy base, it's overlaid by varisity maize panels across the toe area, heel, and mudguards. A scaled-up Swoosh slithers by the lateral and medial sides, and this is complementary by a pair of flat laces that tie everything together. Included on the reverse of the tongue and on the insole is Nike CO.JP branding, tying the model to a series of snakeskin models like the recently revealed Nike Dunk Low CO.JP "Brown Snakeskin." All of this then sits on top of a natural-hued Air midsole, complete with a bright yellow Air bubble and outsole combination that rounds off the colorway perfectly.
The Nike Air Max 1 Premium CO.JP Michigan Snakeskin W will release June 21 exclusively in women's sizes. Expected to drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers, they'll be priced at $170.
