The Nike Air Max 1 is an iconic silhouette that has been around since 1987, coming to us in various iterations since this debut. Like other silhouettes such as the Air More Uptempo or Air Jordan 5, the Nike Air Max 1 has appeared in slide-form, so far spotted in “Black Neutral Grey” and the OG “Sport Red.” Now, the model has emerged in a patriotic-like “Obsidian” colorway.
Featuring a forefoot strap that takes inspiration from the vamp and midfoot of the standard Air Max 1, the strap is made of white mesh and is accented with grey and navy suede panels. Nike branding appears in red on the tongue tag, while the tip of the Swoosh is embroidered in navy. Underfoot, the Air Max 1 Slide features an obsidian and white footbed with a visible Air unit in the heel for added comfort. The outsole comes in red, white, and obsidian, tying the patriotic colorway together.
The Nike Air Max 1 Slide Obsidian will release July 20 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $75.
