In the world of sneakers, few models have garnered the enduring appeal of the Nike Air Max 1. Released in 1987 as the first shoe to feature visible Air cushioning, the Air Max 1 was not just a shoe—it was a revolution. Fast-forward to 2022, and the Air Max 1 celebrated its 35th Anniversary, with Nike commemorating the occasion with some stellar releases like the trio of colorways from Concepts. As we edge toward the end of 2023, Nike shows no sign of slowing down, continuing to treat fans with impressive new colorways. The latest to be revealed, following close on the heels of the "Medium Olive" and "Light Bone Violet Dust" renditions, is the vibrant "University Blue" version.
The Nike Air Max 1 "University Blue" maintains the iconic silhouette's classic charm, adhering to OG colorblocking. A white mesh base sets the stage for the vibrant university blue accents that grace the suede mudguard and Swoosh. This compelling blue also marks the Nike text atop the tongue, heel, and within the sockliner. The vamp, midfoot, and heel overlays are fashioned in grey suede and add a balance to the fresh and bright blues. Below, the shoe features a crisp white foam midsole with the visible Air unit in university blue. Rounding off the design is a dependable black and white rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 University Blue will release November 23, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
