Thanks to Tinker Hatfield and a trip to Paris, we can all enjoy visible Air units in Nike sneakers. This started with the iconic Air Max 1 way back in 1987, and since then, the model has become a cult favorite for Air Max heads and the general public as new renditions appear throughout the year. For its latest version, Nike dresses the Air Max 1 in a women’s exclusive “Volt Sea Glass” color scheme.
Standard Air Max 1 construction remains as the upper features a mix of suede and mesh materials. Volt hits appear on the suede mudguard and Swoosh, as well as on the TPU eyelets and Nike branding on the tongue. White mesh is visible on the toebox and collar, as well as on the laces and tongue. The standout feature of this sneaker is the sea glass-colored suede panels that cover the vamp, midfoot, and heel. The sea glass tone adds a subtle pop of color, complimenting the volt green and white shades nicely. Finishing the design is the classic Air Max 1 midsole in white and a volt, black, and white rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Volt Sea Glass W will release August 31 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women's sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
