If there's a sneaker out there that shouldn't work on paper, but works a bit too well in-person, it would probably be the Nike Air Max 90 Futura "Aura." Back in August, the Oregon-based sportswear giant decided to give the Tinker Hatfield icon a contemporary rework. Following the release of a handful of clean colorways, the silhouette has now gone to the other side of the rainbow and back, and we're taking our first look yet.
A multi-colored masterpiece, this AM90 works on top of a white engineered mesh base and is overlaid with fuchsia dream and vivid orange leather panels. A striking cosmic fuchsia Swoosh shoots through the lateral and medial panels, while rubberized Baltic Blue eyestays make up the lacing system. Oversized pull tabs make their way to the tongue and heel for a rugged and ready design, and the mudguards are crafted from a glossy textile that looks completely different depending on what angle you're looking at it from. This all sits on top of an Max Air-infused midsole, placing the finishing touches on the futuristic aesthetic.
Releasing on March 1st, 2023, the Nike Air Max 90 Futura Aura W will be a women's exclusive and will retail for $160 at Nike and select retailers globally.
