There’s Something Fishy Going On With The Nike Air Max 97 Koi

When Christian Tresser designed the AM 97 back in 1997, he probably didn’t know that he was in the middle of creating a sneaker icon that would still be sought-after even after 25 years. With that said, it’s colorways like the brand new Nike Air Max 97 “Koi” that have allowed this model to gain its legendary status.
Inspired by water ripples, whether you’re a hardcore 97 collector or you’re fishing for your first pair, the Koi is made for you. Split into two halves, the top portion is painted in a crisp “Summit White” hue, while the bottom is dipped in a luxe “Yellow Ochre.” Crafted from a premium combination of mesh, leather, and suede, you’ll find fishscale detailing across the side panels, tongue, and the bottom of the midsole. This is all rounded off with a koi graphic that’s printed onto the black insole.
The Nike Air Max 97 Koi Yellow Ochre is set to release in Holiday 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online.
