The Nike Air Max 97 has always been a favorite silhouette amongst sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts alike. The sneaker has had a storied history since its initial release in the late '90s and has seen countless colorways and collaborations. For the newest iteration of the Air Max 97, Nike is bringing collegiate vibes with the upcoming "Michigan" colorway.
Seemingly inspired by the Wolverines team colors, a combination of leather and mesh takes over the model, with a navy mudguard wrapping around the entire sneaker. The iconic bullet train-inspired wavy panels come in white, with one doused in yellow. Tonal white laces and tongue match one another, while the Swoosh-branded suede patch on the tongue comes in yellow and navy. More Swoosh branding is found on the midfoot's white mesh patch, which hosts a yellow embroidered logo. The navy sockliner pairs with the nylon pull tab and its Air Max text, while full-length Air Max cushioning can be found below in a clear finish. This cushioning gets contained by a white foam midsole and multi-color rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 97 Michigan will be released in Fall 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
