From the classic Air Jordan 4 to the contemporary Air Max Scorpion, Sergio Lozano's original Air Max 95 has inspired countless colorways and silhouettes over the past few decades. Considered by many sneakerheads to be one of the most iconic shoes of all-time, there's really no questioning why it has had so much influence in the game. Now, another sneaker is set to reference the legendary color combination in the form of the Nike Air Max 97 "Neon" - and here's everything that we know so far.
Even though the Air Max 97 celebrated its 25th Anniversary last year, it seems like the hottest colorways, like the "Athletic Company" and the "Kiss My Airs," are only just coming out. Boasting a multi-material construction, the top half of this AM97 is crafted from interchanging layers of pure platinum mesh and leather, while the bottom half comprises of a slick black mudguard that wraps around the entire upper. Volt green accents electrify the tongue and Swoosh, just like the aforementioned AM95, and this shocking shade extends towards the full length Max Air midsole underfoot, finalizing the design.
The Nike Air Max 97 Neon Pure Platinum is set to release sometime in Summer 2023 in men's sizes. Expected to drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers, they will retail for $175 each.
